Recommended Varieties

CoLk 12207 (Ikshu-6)

  • CoLk 12207, Early
  • Region recommended for : North-Central and North-East region, specially Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Assam etc.
  • The average sugarcane yield during testing was found to be 75.42 tonnes per hectare, which was 10-15% higher than the regional standard varieties.
  • Sucrose % and Pol % (Cane) was found to be 17% and 13.17% in 10 month crop.
  • Ratoon found to be good when harvested on time.
  • Moderately resistant to red rot disease; Sugarcane is medium thick and light yellowish green in color; Top is dark green and the leaves are straight.

CoLk 12209 (Ikshu-7)

  • CoLk 12209, Midlate
  • Region recommended for : North-Central and North-East region, specially Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Assam etc.
  • The average sugarcane yield during testing was found to be 77.52 tonnes per hectare, which was 10% higher than the regional standard varieties.
  • Average Sucrose % and Pol % (Cane) was found to be 17.66% and 14.33% respectively.
  • Ratoon found to be good yielding with 7.0–12.0% higher than the standard varieties. Variety is moderately resistant to red rot disease.
  • Cane is medium thick and greenish-white in color. Top is dark green and the leaf is straight.

CoLk 11203 (Ikshu-5)

  • CoLk 11203, Early, High yield and sugar variety
  • Region recommended for : North-West Region, specially in the Middle West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan etc.
  • Average Sucrose % was found to be 18.41% in 10 month crop, which is higher than standard CoJ 64 and Co 0238 varieties.
  • Average sugarcane yield and Pol % (Cane) was found to be 82 t / ha and 13.44% respectively.
  • Variety is moderately resistant to red rot disease. Cane is medium thick and of light yellow color with greenness. Top is green and the leaves are straight.

CoLk 11206 (Ikshu-4)

  • CoLk 11206, Midlate, High yield and sugar variety
  • Region recommended for : North-West Region, specially Mid-West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan etc.
  • Average sugarcane yield was found to be 91.5 t / ha, which is 15-25% higher than the standard varieties.
  • Average Sucrose % and Pol % (Cane) was found to be 17.65% and 13.42% respectively in 12 month crop.
  • It is a moderately resistant to red rot disease.
  • Cane is medium thick and yellow-green in color. Top is green and leaves are straight and circular at front.

CoLk 09204 (Ikshu-3)

  • CoLk 09204, Midlate and high cane yield variety
  • Region recommended for : North-West region specially Middle West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan etc.
  • Its average cane yield was found to be 82.8 t / ha, which is 10-20% higher than the regional standard varieties.
  • Average Sucrose % and Pol % (Cane) was found to be 17.0% and 13.22% respectively in 12 month crop.
  • Ratoon of this variety is excellent and its cane is medium thick and green in color.
  • Top is dark green and the leaf arched extends downwards.
  • Variety is moderately to high resistant to red rot disease.

CoLk 9709

  • CoLk 9709, Early, High sugar variety
  • Region recommended for : Central and Western Uttar Pradesh.
  • Average sugarcane yield is 80.0 t / ha.
  • Average Sucrose % and Pol % (Cane) is 18.04% and 13.36% respectively.
  • This variety is moderately resistant to red rot disease and having good Ratooning.
  • Top is light yellowish-green in color and the leaf arched extends downwards. Cane is generally solid, medium thick and white-green in color.
              
 

CoLk 94184 (Birendra)

  • CoLk 94184, Early, High sugar variety
  • Region recommended for : North-Central and North-East Region, specially East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Assam etc.
  • Average cane yield of this variety is about 75.97 t / ha and poll % (Cane) is 13.63%.
  • It is a high-sugar variety, having Sucrose % as 17.97% at 10 month crop
  • This variety can also be successfully grown in water-logging regions.
  • Ratooning is very good. Cane is medium thick and light yellow-green. Top of this variety is green and the leaf is vertical (upright).
              
 

CoLk 8001

A midlate maturing variety released in 1988 for commercial cultivation in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. A high sugar from early to late crushing, high yield in plant and ratoon, midlate variety with wider adaptation. This variety is tolerant to borers.
 

CoLk 8102

A high tillering, green foliage without spines, non-lodging, erect stalks, medium thick canes, very good ratooner, moderately resistant to red rot, resistant to smut, wilt, ratoon stunting, grassy shoot, leaf scald disease under field conditions, drought tolerant. This midlate maturing variety released in 1996 for commercial cultivation in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
